La Romona is one of the largest cities in the Dominican Republic. It is the gateway to the Catalina and Saona Islands. The city has a tropical plain that has some of the most attractive white long beaches with turquoise blue water. Lately, the place has become a regular tourist spot for two of its major attractions – Cueva de las Maravillas (Cave of Wonders) and Alton de Chavon, which is a re-creation of 16th-century Mediterranean-style villages.
La Romana has a tropical savanna climate, which is perfect for attracting tourists throughout the year. One can enjoy blissful marine life along with varied water sports like snorkeling and scuba diving because of the crystal-clear water.
